Rock climbing Okanagan

Test your grit and go climbing at the world-famous Skaha Bluffs located across the lake from Ponderosa Point.  If you are new to climbing contact Skaha Rock Adventures for a full or half day lesson for your family. Be sure to grab some beef jerky from Doug’s Homestead on your way to the Bluffs to keep you fueled. On your way home stop at Tony’s Meats and Deli and get ready to do some grilling.

Spend your nights at Ponderosa Point dreaming of a hole in one and spend your days making it a reality. There are 10 golf courses in the area with St Andrews at the Lake being a short 15 minute drive away. Be sure to stop by the outstanding Frog Café at Linden Gardens for a coffee and an order of home-made toast on your way to the course.

The Okanagan is a dream come true for road bikers. Ride right from your cabin door and experience some of the best road biking Canada has to offer. With so many routes, you’ll never have to do the same ride twice. After a big day out be sure to sure to stop at the Bench Market for some coffee, baked goods or lunch.

Bike the Kettle Valley Railway

The famous Kettle Valley Railway runs right beside Ponderosa Point! Turn left for a quick ride to Okanagan Falls where you’ll find the famous Tickleberry’s Ice Cream. When cycling with young children it makes the perfect destination. Otherwise, leave Ponderosa and turn right for miles of fun on the KVR as you weave through Penticton and follow the trail all the way to Naramata or beyond. The Prague Café is on this route so be sure to have a piece of their fresh fruit cake.

Eat Some Amazing Local Food

The Okanagan is known for it’s wines but its also famous for abundance of fruit and vegetables. You can find it all on display at the weekly Penticton Farmers’ Market, held each Saturday during the growing season. Bursting with organic produce, scrumptious breads and freshly baked pies, get ready to come back to your cabin and prepare a feast for your family and friends.

Get in Skaha Lake

If relaxing is your goal while at Ponderosa Point, it’s easy to achieve. Sit on your deck with a good book, enjoy the lake view or head over to the expansive south facing beach for a dip in the lake. For those seeking a bit of activity there is a powerboat for hire with wakeboards, water skis and tubes. We also have paddleboards, kayaks and a canoe available if the urge for self-propelled activity strikes.
